June 16, 2017, Gene Snow and Paula Reid, known as the Texas Eagle Dirt Band, performs country music, flavored with God and Country. Their classic country music is blended into much of their original songs.
Gene is a good old "down home" country boy, originally from Wichita Falls, Texas. Back in 1976 he was transplanted to Texarkana where he made his home for almost twenty years. In late 1991, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee for two and a half years where he developed music business relationships that are invaluable today as he continues his music career. He performed on the Grand Ole Opry Stage, hosted a Writer's Night on the historic Printer's Ally, and provided a pre-show performance for the Jim Ed Brown Theater for two seasons, along with other notable appearances in and around Nashville.
He sings with a strong and serious message, much of the time, but has a happy, fun-loving spirit that is always well received and loved. With his sincere exchange of feeling with the audience, he illuminates a positive charisma, which is hard to deny.
Throughout Gene's career, his sister, Paula Reid, was the stabilizing and motivating force behind the successes that continuously marked his path. As a great songwriter, she wrote many songs that from the beginning advanced him as a respected recording artist. He released a single in Southern Gospel music in 1996, "Fire On The Mountain in Galilee", that got some serious radio air-play. Gene released a song to the Bluegrass market in 1998 written by Paula, "Kentucky Moon", and it charted at #30.
Gene toured with the Country Legend, Tillman Franks, for six years in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. These were some of the most important years of his musical training and grooming.
Gene and Paula organized the Texas Eagle Dirt Band and are now performing across the nation with the four-piece band at corporate functions, tourist venues, private parties, cowboy churches, and dances. Our schedule stays full, but we're lovin' every minute of it.
Recently, we've featured the classic music of the country greats. Folks seem to really appreciate our tribute performance to these stars who built country music. We also continue to add our own original songs and the Christian country that helped to build our house.
Our Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame house band, "Country Sounds", will perform backup for Gene and Paula.
