Bridgett Huffhines, a Texas based singer and songwriter began singing at age six. Her parents were musicians and her father, was also a writer. In her early 20?s, she sang in area churches with her mother. Her roots go deep in gospel music because of her mother?s passion for it.
In 1989, Bridgett and brother James Grisham started a country band called ?Southbound? and traveled three states singing and writing country music. The band fronted for Willie Nelson, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, Jerry Reed, and Mark Chesnutt, to name a few. The band split in 1993 and she moved to Nashville. After returning to Texas four years later, and working six years in the cellular business, she turned her life and abilities over to the Lord. She?s been singing and writing gospel and country music for the last 14 years. She sang with a women?s trio called ?Surrendered? for 3 years. The trio released two CD?s with six songs penned by Bridgett. The Music Association of Central Texas (M.A.C.T.) nominated the trio for ?Christian Group of the Year? three years in a row. Bridgett was also nominated M.A.C.T. top female vocalist 4 years running and songwriter of the year for three. In 2004, the trio was blessed to receive the award for ?Christian Group of the Year?. They traveled around Central Texas and shared the stage with Greater Vision, Mark Bishop, The Messenger Quartet, New Ground, Al Brumley Jr., The Dixie Echoes, Haskell Cooley and others.
Bridgett taught voice and writing until 2006 and co-wrote many songs with some of her students. She is writing and serving the Lord with hopes to write, sing, and spread the gospel through her songs on a much larger scale. For the last 9 years, Bridgett has been a Pain and Stress Management Specialist with Bodylign, a business owned by her and her husband, Mark.
Bridgett completed her 6th CD of original and collaborated Christian and Country songs at DRS studio in Waco, TX and her newest album was released in February 2014. In 2013, she was nominated as ?Top Female Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year? by her peers at the M.A.C.T. and was honored to take home the ?Songwriter of the Year? award.
She travels the United States impersonating Patsy Cline for various corporations and many functions locally. She has done this for the last 17 years. If you?d like to contact her please call or email: Bridgett Huffhines (254) 498-2282 / bhuffhines62@aol.com
Bridgett?s good friend, Joyce Marek, is a Texas singer/songwriter, who loves good old country music. She?s recorded in Nashville and was a regular on Lee Rascone?s singer/songwriter showcase in downtown Nashville. Whether Joyce is playing bass with a 5 piece band, taking the stage with only her vocals and guitar, or tickling your funny bone with her impersonation of country?s all-time favorite funny lady, ?Cousin Minnie Pearl,? she gives her all and the crowds love her!
Joyce?s love for the Nashville comedienne led to her Minnie Pearl tribute in 2011. Since then, she captures the hearts of many in the Central Texas area with her act. Joyce currently performs for many Oprys, jamborees, and private engagements in Central Texas with rave revues.
