Colt Buckelew & the Crossroads
March 20, 2015 Colt Buckelew, the lead vocalist, backup vocalist, lead/rhythm guitarist, and songwriter, has been in the music business for many years. Colt was born and raised in Burnet, Texas. He started playing guitar and writing songs when he was 14 years old. Like many other musicians, he went to Nashville for a while and returned to Texas where he prefers to stay. Tiffany Valentine, the lead vocalist, backup vocalist, and rhythm guitarist didn't start playing the guitar until May of 2011, but she took to it like a duck to water. As she continued her education in Psychology, she advanced in the music world as well. She is now an accomplished musician showing her vocal skills and blowing folks minds away each time she sings. She is driven by her passion for music, and blessed with a deep, bluesy, and soulful sound. Billy "Wild Child" Highsmith has been with Colt Buckelew & the Crossroads (CBC) since its beginning in 1992. He is a valued member of the team, playing lead guitar and writing songs with Colt or by himself. At age 11, Billy began playing on an acoustic guitar, bought at a yard sale for $25. He grew up musically to the likes of Randy Rhoads and Van Halen, but was always a fan of classic country music. He played for bands such as, Mirror Image, Blackfoot Rising, Highdro Flash, The Texas Train Wreck, Trial by Fire, and Colt Buckelew & the Crossroads. In 2002, Mirror Image closed the night out for Doug Supernaw. His band won the Battle of the Bands in San Marcos and Austin in 2003. He was the guitar player for KXAN News story on "Put your Guitar where your Mouth is Tour". Being a prodigy of Randy Rhoades, we sometimes have to bring him back to the country side of things, but he never gets further out of hand than allowed! Gene Howison is our drummer. He played drums in high school, and actually played at Carnegie Hall. A drummer since high school, he now, plays with Colt Buckelew & the Crossroads. Driven by a passion for music, he strives to make a career in music. Tim Priester is our bass player, and only recently joined us in January 2015. Tim started playing drums in 1977 with his first band in 1979 called Thin Ice. He then took some time off to join the Army from 1982 until 1988. He worked as a drummer for hire playing with multiple bands, and doing studio work as well. While living in Ada, Oklahoma he worked with bands like Ratin Bridge, Red River Shine, and Love Lady Road. After moving back to Texas, he played with Thin Ice for a little while before moving to Liberty Hill, TX and joining the Colt Buckelew & the Crossroads (CBC) family. Tim is trying his hand at something new, playing bass. He is a talented addition to our family.
